Steve Harris is Chief Technology Officer at Ufonia, where he leads the engineering teams behind Dora. He brings two decades of technology leadership to the role, having previously served as CTO and co-founder of Aistemos (Cipher) and as CTO of Garlik, leading both startups from inception through to successful exit.
His career began in research at the University of Southampton, working on AI, machine learning, and knowledge representation. He has a particular depth in knowledge graphs and graph databases: he designed and built 4store, an early clustered RDF store, and served as editor of the W3C's SPARQL 1.1 Query specification, the standard query language for graph data. A Fellow of the British Computer Society, he is drawn to problems where rigorous engineering meets genuinely hard, high-stakes domains.
Outside of work, Steve is a keen woodworker with a particular love of building furniture.
