Simon is part of our Product Engineering team. He's passionate about how technology can shape a person's wellbeing, and about using AI to make it more accessible. He also cares about helping others do their best work — he's spoken at conferences across the UK, US, and South Africa, and volunteered with RailsBridge and RailsGirls London supporting women and underrepresented groups in software.
With a background in Computational Intelligence from the University of Pretoria, Simon moved to the UK in 2018 on a Tier 1 Exceptional Talent visa following a Tech Nation endorsement. He's since spent his career at the intersection of design, engineering, and applied ML. At Ctrl Group he built the backend for Fora Health, a patient engagement platform used in NHS and private healthcare research, including its Epic EMR integration and later an agentic clinical search system.
Outside of work Simon enjoys making good food and coffee, taking photos around London, and playing guitar for his son.
